I can't recommend this hotel and it's owners highly enough.

I recently took a group of 10 students on a cycling + environmental education trip based out of Gualchos. We were a group of mixed-ability cyclists who had never been to Southern Spain before. We spent the whole time in Gualchos at La Ventera, and I could not have dreamed up a better experience.

I was able to coordinate with the hotel owners, Morten and Freja long before our trip and coordinate cycling routes, dining plans and extra activities in the area. Morten supported our group in so many ways, and he and Freja were some of the friendliest, most knowledgeable and thoughtful people I have ever worked with.

The layout of the hotel is incredibly conducive to large groups with comfortable communal spaces with great views, as well as separated sleeping areas with every necessary amenity. The food prepared by the Chef at La Ventera, Vivienne, was TOP quality and made our evening meals feel familiar and warm.

Cycling in Gualchos, while steep and challenging at times, takes you through beautiful, diverse landscapes. We were never in want of a new and exciting route, and were able to push ourselves at many different levels. The hiking nearby was also stunning and easily accessible.

I can't wait to go back to visit Morten and Freja soon, and get to know Gualchos better. (Actively planning my next trip now).

We were a group of 8, visiting the hotel for a cycling holiday. This is our 10th trip, and easily the best. The owner, Morten and his wife, are the kindest hosts you can imagine. The facilities are ideal for groups up to 12, who wants to cycle in the mountains. If you are fed up with large commercial hotels, look no further. Superb service and true boutique style hotel in a great area for cycling. I will come back soon!
